Everyone Plays A Part In Life

Updated: Jun 15, 2022

Life has such a way of teaching you things. Sometimes in funny ways, good ways, but let’s be honest, a lot of times we learn lessons in the not so easiest ways. Especially the lesson that everyone plays a part in life.

Growing up I always struggled with people I loved leaving.

Of course, there was this ultimate reason for that.

Hello, my father left me. My so-called “hero”. So yeah, I was left feeling damaged and broken. Who could blame me?

And I know I’m not the only one.

Being the broken little girl I was, I always looked for other people to fill the void I was left with.

I craved a father figure.

Naturally, most of the friends and people I opened up to and trusted left my life.

You know, that revolving door of relationships. Some bad but mostly just part of life.

Well, I could never see it that way.

It was always like a flashback for me.

Another person.

1,2,3…they always leave.

I allowed those thoughts to damage my self-value.

It has taken me years and years to truly learn and accept something.

Each season of life brings new people.

Everyone knows the analogy of a book. Every chapter has characters. Some are recurring, some are guests.

But, they all play a part in the story.

That’s exactly how life is. God blesses us with people. Some are around from the start to finish. Some come and go. And some, are only vital for a certain season.

But, God is the author. He knows what part each person plays in our life before we do.

I always heard this analogy before but it never really stuck until the other day.

I was sitting down to write some letters in a book I bought on Amazon for a best friend. As I was flipping through it, I realized the person I had initially bought it for, changed.

That saddened me because I was reminded of how things didn’t go as hoped for.

But then someone else came to mind that this book of letters would be PERFECT for.

As I sat there, I thought,

“What if this whole time, it was never meant for who I planned it for and God knew who it was really meant for?”

That’s when my spirit was reminded that God knows so much more than I could ever know.

That he has everything set out before me.

When my father left, God gave my family our Pastoral family. They were there for us through every single low moment.

To this day I do not know what we would have done without them.

God also blessed me with a family in my church to who I became very close.

There were friends that came and went but they all made me laugh and played a part in who I am now.

The friends I made freshmen year of high school, helped me step out of my bubble.

I then met someone who has left one of the biggest imprints on my heart.

Someone who became my best friend, my first boyfriend, and a part of my family.

I called him, my true north.

He was a part of my story for 6 years. But now we are in different chapters of life and no longer on the same page.

It was hard accepting that and oftentimes there were 2 quotes I would remind myself.

“If there ever comes a day when we can’t be together, keep me in your heart, I’ll stay there forever.” “How lucky I am to have something that makes saying goodbye so hard.” -Winnie the Pooh

And even though we are apart right now, God has brought a new character into my life.

I call her my “Amazing Grace”

I thank God for our friendship, whether it's for a season or forever.

Either way I wanted to share this moment with you so it can uplift and encourage your spirit.

God has a plan and will for your life. And you could be thinking all these thoughts and asking all these questions right now.

Trust me. I’ve probably asked them all too!

God has the answers we need but a lot of times he doesn’t share them right away because wants us to trust him first.

So please, remember to trust God. Walk by faith and not by sight.

Remember life is full of seasons and each one brings forth different things.

The one thing you can ALWAYS count on is God!

BU+

Lots of love,

Samantha Nicole
